COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS

Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball Club offers a number of programs for players of all ages and abilities.

CCJ is truly a community club that strives to meet the needs of our unique volleyball community in Southern Arizona.  The club works with all players:  players that want to learn the game and have fun; players that wish to become better for their high school team; and players that want to play at the next level in college.

GIRLS JUNIOR NATIONAL PROGRAM

CCJ’s National Travel teams are designed to be highly competitive both regionally and nationally. In addition to competition within the Arizona Region, these teams will travel to national tournaments allowing exposure to college recruiters. Attitude and accountability are emphasized while demanding a commitment from all players are desire intense, focused, and competitive training.

Every November, CCJ forms traveling teams that will compete in the Arizona Region (January-May) as well as National events in Southern California, Colorado, Las Vegas, Phoenix. The teams compete at the Open Level of National Tournaments to give our players exposure to the highest level of competition.

Practices will start in December and then continue to May. The teams start practicing again in late May after high school final exams to prepare for any National season-ending events. In late June, they travel to the Junior Nationals, if qualified; or the teams will attend the AAU National Championships in Orlando and/or the Summer Soiree in Southern California.

Teams typically practice three times a week; and practices last for 2 hours (weekdays) to three hours (Saturdays or Sundays). Practices will be held at The Sporting Chance facility as well as local high schools if the SCC is not available.

During the season, the teams attend numerous one-day tournaments, organized by the Arizona Region Volleyball Association, which will take place in Phoenix and Tucson. The Junior National Teams also have the option to travel to major four major tournaments: the Cactus Classic Invitational (January, Tucson), the Las Vegas Invitational (February, Las Vegas), Colorado Crossroads JNQ (March, Denver), the SCVA JNQ (April, Las Vegas), and the JVA West Coast Cup (May, Long Beach).

GIRLS REGIONAL PROGRAM

Region Teams are offered at every age level that will compete in the Arizona Region’s competition schedule.  The goals for teams are to increase skill and proficiency, further team systems, develop positive team dynamics and offer positive competitive experiences which provide excellent off-season training opportunities for all players looking to improve for their high school teams.  CCJ’s Region Teams get the unique opportunity to compete in the Cactus Classic Invitational, a national invitational tournament hosted by CCJ.

In November, CCJ forms traveling teams that will compete only in the Arizona Region (the tryouts for Junior National teams and Regional teams are combined). These Regional teams do not go to any out-of-state event or the Junior National Championships. This program provides a substantial training season yet has fees that are much less than the Junior National program due to the fact that the teams do not travel.
